About This Tool
PA Workers' Comp Calculator
Why We Built This
Workers' compensation insurance is mandatory for nearly every business in Pennsylvania — yet the pricing is notoriously opaque. Class codes, loss costs, LCMs, EMRs: these are actuarial terms that most business owners have never encountered, and insurance companies don't exactly rush to explain them.
We built this tool to change that. Every estimate uses the official 2026 PCRB (Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau) loss costs — the same data that every licensed insurer in Pennsylvania is required to use as their pricing baseline. We apply the complete, published formula: loss cost × LCM × EMR + expense constant + PA Act 57 assessment. No black boxes, no hidden assumptions.

Data Sources
All loss cost data is sourced from the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau (PCRB) filing effective April 1, 2026. The PCRB is the licensed rating organization for workers' compensation in Pennsylvania, established under Pennsylvania law. Their published loss costs are the foundation for all workers' comp pricing in the state.
Additional constants (expense constant: $350; PA Employer Assessment factor: 2.18%) are sourced from current PCRB and PA Insurance Department publications.
